Raucous but Precious

Special day today, as the children around here get to go to the first day.  That includes two new grandkids going to Kindergarten.  What a thrill then, to pass on a song and tradition.  When we were kids, my dad sang a school days, school days, good old fashioned rule days.

The song is one thing, but he sang it as off key and raucous as possible.  So guess what…  Both of my wonderful daughters were allowed the same privilege and now, my daughter called so the kids could hear my raucous rendition – a fully appreciated song as off key as possible, and so did the three just going out the door.

I do believe they all got the message of love and care from this ol’ papa, in spite of raucous.  How many remember that old song?
