Sunday July 30 Devotional
James 5:7-8 (KJV) Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
How hard is it to wait? As gardeners, we see the plants in a seed catalog and dream a bit. In spring we prepare the ground, plant our selections, then wait some more. But ah, the first fruits are so good, making it very much worth the wait. Do you look forward to the coming of the Lord? Do you care enough to be doing His Will for your life while you wait?
Thought: Look forward to the coming of the Lord and live as if were coming back today.
Oh God, help me to be anxious not for this world, but anxious for your coming back.
