Tuesday May 16 Devotional
1 Corinthians 5:6-8 (KJV) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Every week my mom would make four loaves of homemade bread. Three parts would go as bread and one part for cinnamon rolls. Mmmm, I still remember the aroma in her kitchen when we walked in from school. Please comment if that is a memory for you also. It’s more than that isn’t it in a Christian life? For the same yeast might make a bad batch. Who are you this morning? Are you a wicked yeast who will spoil your family or group? Or better, are you a spiritually sweet aroma that turns people to Christ? Mmmm, that you would be a good aroma.
Thought: Do you rise and sweeten those around you or are you something evil?
Oh Lord, help me to not be sourdough, but sweet bread for you.
