What a little girl taught me about my faith.
Friday April 14 Devotional
Romans 7:18-19 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Our grand daughter didn’t know that she had quite a chocolate ring around her mouth and chin, plus on her fingers. When I asked her. “Who got into this Easter candy? Was it you?” Oh how her most instant innocent look quickly covered her crime. That quickly turned again into a full scale pout complete with lip and scowl. It was a great theatre play for me and reminded me of how I must look to our Savior when I sin and don’t confess it, but instead do the ‘not me’ routine. On this Good Friday morning, it will do me well to remember how Christ came to forgive me for my sins. I do need to confess them before His Throne.
Thought: Jesus died for my sins. I need to confess my sins and have a clean life through Him.
Oh Lord, help me to understand the value of the cross and lead a better life through you.
