You Are What You Eat

You Are What You Eat

Fill up on the fruit of the spirit.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

As this ol’ papa scans down a Face Book page, it’s not uncommon to see delicious new recipes on a video, where two hands stir and add ingredients and taking the baked goods out for our view.  Don’t these people know that I’m a fat old bald man who shouldn’t have those tempting treats?  Tempting is right.  Should I indulge?  Probably not.  I’m reminded of this as I read from Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Mmmm, how I love to munch on these, video or not.  These lead me to exercise my options in His Spirit, jump up in Praise to His Name, Shout Adoration to the Father, dive into the scriptures, and dig up a nugget of truth.

How does that grab you this morning?

Thought:  If we are what we eat, then Lord, fill me with your spirit of grace, humbleness, and all of the other fruits.

Prayer:  It’s all about Jesus.  Help me Jesus to be filled with you and not the things of this world.
