Has Darkness Pulled You Down?

One step of faith can pull you up.

One thrill that I have as an author, is to be able to see and understand the weeping heart of a new character as she is bent down before the Way of light.  You see, this novel is first a love story, wrapped within the action/adventure of a fantasy world.

In our world, you can’t hide love or shame.  You can’t hide a hurting heart either.  Our character falls to her hands and knees before the Way of light, unable to blink or barely breath.

Darkness is in a depth of fight with light.  That evil stench of dark reach wants to claim her forever, but the Way of light pulls back one crooked piece after another, shredding the hold of darkness, one small piece at a time.

For the first time in her life, our character knows a glimmer of hope, of a love so rich and pure that darkness can’t hold on in its presence.  As our character is finally cleansed from darkness, her lips open in her first words of praise to Glorify Light over darkness.

Is that the way with you today?  Is your heart so filled with the darkness of sin, that you can barely move for the weight of it?  Jesus say in 1 John 1:4-6

4We write these things so that our joy may be complete. 5And this is the message we have heardfrom Him and announce to you: God is light, and inHim there is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.…

Can you place yourself into that word picture of saving grace?  Just like in my story, God will pull back each clinging chain of sin until you can stand and shout His praises with a heart as pure and free as can be.

That is the choice that our character made.  Can you make it your choice too?
